An Indian-origin man has claimed he was the victim of a racially motivated assault near his home in Dublin, Ireland. Identified as Santosh Yadav, a senior data scientist at WiSAR Lab and Technology Gateway in Letterkenny, he stated on LinkedIn that the incident occurred while he was out for a walk.

Yadav alleged that a group of teenagers attacked him without provocation, beating him on the head, face, neck, chest, hands, and legs, and leaving him bleeding on the pavement.

In the LinkedIn post he revealed that he was attacked by a group of six people, the attack left his cheekbone fractured.

The man wrote, “After having dinner, I was walking near my apartment when a group of six teenagers attacked me from behind."

“They snatched my glasses, breaking them, and then beat me relentlessly across my head, face, neck, chest, hands, and legs—leaving me bleeding on the pavement," he added.

“I managed to call the Gardaí, and an ambulance took me to Blanchardstown Hospital. The medical team confirmed my cheekbone is fractured, and I have now been referred for specialist care," he added.

Also stressing on other similar incidents, Santosh Yadav on LinkedIn wrote, “This is not an isolated incident. Racist attacks on Indian men and other minorities are surging across Dublin—on buses, in housing estates, and on public streets."

“Yet, the government is silent. There is no action being taken against these perpetrators. They run free and are emboldened to attack again," he mentioned.

“We deserve to feel safe. We deserve to walk on the streets without fear," the man’s post read.

This incident follows a July 19 attack in Melbourne’s Altona Meadows, where a 33-year-old Indian-origin man was assaulted with a machete by a group of teenagers.

According to Australia Today, the victim, Saurabh Anand, was ambushed by five teens while walking home after picking up medicine from the Central Square Shopping Centre. It was the second reported case of violence against Indians in Australia within a week.
