External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said India on Wednesday expressed concern over the unfolding crisis in Venezuela, urging all parties to prioritise the safety and well-being of its people.
“Yes, we are concerned at developments in Venezuela. It is a country with which we have had very good relations. We would urge all parties to come to a position that is in the interest of the people,” Jaishankar said, outlining New Delhi’s stance amid the political turmoil.

The comments reflect India’s cautious diplomatic approach, emphasizing dialogue and stability while highlighting the country’s long-standing relations with Venezuela.
Jaishankar made the remarks on the sidelines of his meeting with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel, where the two leaders reviewed bilateral ties and discussed key areas for future cooperation.
Emphasising the depth of the relationship, Jaishankar said India and Luxembourg share 78 years of diplomatic ties and that New Delhi sees Luxembourg as an important partner in its own right as well as within the European Union.
