A dramatic video has surfaced showing the sinking of a yacht in Turkish waters. According to The New York Post, footage shared on X captured the luxury yacht Dolce Vento going under on its maiden voyage off the coast of Zonguldak’s Eregli district in northern Turkey on Tuesday.

What began as a smooth launch quickly turned disastrous, as the brand-new vessel, worth nearly $1 million and measuring around 85 feet, sank within just 15 minutes.

Following the mishap, the yacht’s owner and crew members were seen jumping into the sea and swimming to safety. The entire incident was captured on camera, and the video soon went viral online.

According to the report, the boat had been delivered to its owner from Istanbul, Turkey.

The passengers, including the owner, captain, and two crew members, all managed to swim ashore unharmed. The coast guard and port authorities later established a security perimeter around the sinking vessel, the report added.

Netizens react

“If a boat that big only costs $1 million, I can tell you why it sank," one of the comments read.

Another user commented, “Congrats on unlocking the world’s most expensive diving board, kek."

The yacht was even compared to the Titanic. “Titanic: 2 hours."

"Dude, this happened in Turkey lol. It was a cheaply made boat that sank 15 minutes after it was launched. A 10M yacht would actually function," another user added.
