Countries like the UAE and Thailand continue to dominate search trends thanks to visa-on-arrival, e-visa or visa-free access for Indians, cutting down planning time and uncertainty. With flight times of just 4–6 hours from major metros, competitive airfares and affordable food, transport and experiences, these short-haul favourites are ideal for long weekends, first-time international trips and short family breaks—especially for working professionals with limited leave.

At the same time, travel choices are becoming increasingly generational and experience-driven. Men tend to gravitate towards the UAE and Thailand, followed by the UK, Malaysia and Kazakhstan for their blend of nightlife, adventure and business hubs. Women, meanwhile, are increasingly drawn to destinations perceived as safe, well-structured and rich in curated experiences, reflecting a growing preference for comfort-led exploration.

Generational differences are sharpening this divide even further. Gen Z is fuelling the rise of “vibe-led” travel—prioritising adventure, affordability and Instagram-worthy backdrops—while Gen X leans towards familiarity, comfort and family-friendly planning. This shift is accelerating Central Asia’s rise, with Kazakhstan emerging as the “new Switzerland” for young Indians on a budget. Ranked fourth among the most searched international destinations in 2025, the country captured an 8.9% share of all trips and saw travel volumes nearly double year-on-year—signalling a clear move beyond traditional Southeast Asia and Europe towards scenic, value-driven alternatives.
