The obvious evidence of the good health of the population is the ability to walk without fear at night. In the latest Global Safety Report by Gallup, there are countries that are exceptional in terms of the high percentage of residents who claimed that they feel safe when walking out at night. It is these ten countries that are at the top of the list in terms of their perception of night-safety, which is attributed to good governance, the observable rule of law, and community confidence.

Singapore

In the first place, almost all the adults in Singapore declare that they do not feel unsafe when walking alone at night. This perception is supported by the high quality of street lighting, low rate of crime and good functioning of the services in the city-state. It portrays a city structure and social order.

Tajikistan

This nation is in second place in Central Asia. There is a good sense of local order and community unity, which leads to a high level of reported safety at night. Even in places where the infrastructural facilities are minimal, people will generally indicate that they have confidence in the environment after the sun has set.

China

China, too, is very high, with more than nine out of ten individuals indicating that they feel safe walking alone at night. This is a sense that is preserved in most cities and is assisted by large-scale law enforcement, surveillance and communal investment in infrastructure like light street lighting and patrols.

Oman

Oman is one of the nations that exhibits a high level of safety for the population. Low crime and fear of crime among walkers. Consistency of the government, sound policing and customs and practices that focus on maintaining order among the people all contribute towards people feeling safe at night.

Saudi Arabia

Over the past few years, Saudi Arabia is a country that makes considerable investments toward law and order and is increasingly concerned with the safety of the masses. Others say they would feel safe in walking around the city even at night as long as the infrastructure and security in the area are properly taken care of.

Hong Kong

Being a thick urban land, Hong Kong boasts of light streets, aggressive people transport even during late hours and good civil services. The confidence of residents with regard to their capability to walk safely in the dark is usually high.

Kuwait

Kuwait is among the countries that have individuals who are comfortable enough to stay in their neighbourhoods at night. High perceptions of safety are caused by visible security presence, street lighting and community norms.

Norway

In Europe, Norway stands out. Walking alone at night will be less risky because of trust in institutions, low crime, and other social norms that support community safety. Here, most of them state that they feel safe even in less populated or remote regions.

Bahrain

Bahrain scores high on the night safety. City centres, in particular, enjoy the advantages of a policed and well-developed infrastructure and public supervision. The level of security among its people is quite high.

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The UAE closes the top 10. In its cities, high-visibility policing, good urban planning, street lighting, and city services are all contributing to some of the highest percentages of people who report that they feel safe walking alone at night.
