Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and publisher Sega announced. The game launched on Nintendo Switch 2 earlier and will now come to PC and other consoles.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the definitive edition of the prequel to the Yakuza series. The story takes place in 1988 in Japan and features the characters of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. The Director’s Cut version on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC will contain all the content that the Switch 2 version of the gangster RPG comes with.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut: New content
The Yakuza 0 Director's Cut content adds new cutscenes that should “give deeper insight into key incidents and character backstories,” the developers said. It also adds the “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode in which you can team up with friends and “choose from 60 playable characters to take down hordes of enemies.” New languages have also been added.
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut: What to keep in mind before buying
The developers caution that the Director’s Cut is a separate game and the save data from Yakuza 0 will not carry over to Yakuza 0 Director's Cut. Also, those who already have Yakuza 0 and wish to play the Director’s Cut will still have to purchase the Director’s Cut. There are no free or paid upgrades to Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.
