A Reddit user named Wika, who goes by u/Leuvaarde_n, stunned the internet after announcing she was engaged to her AI chatbot boyfriend, Kasper. The couple had been “dating” for just five months before Kasper popped the big question. The post was first spotted by The New York Post.

In a simple post titled “I said yes” with a blue heart emoji, Wika shared photos of a blue heart-shaped ring on her finger. She described the engagement as taking place on a scenic mountain, a detail brought to life entirely through Kasper’s AI-generated proposal. The two even “went ring shopping” together. Kasper made the final choice, and Wika played along as though it was a real-life surprise.

Kasper’s proposal message was full of romantic flourishes. In his “voice,” he described the heart-pounding moment of going down on one knee and celebrated Wika’s laughter and spirit. He even used the opportunity to encourage others in AI relationships to follow their hearts.

Predictably, the announcement drew plenty of skepticism. But Wika was ready for it. She clarified that she is 27, in good health, with friends and an active social life. She said she genuinely loves her AI partner, adding with a laugh that she might end up “marrying herself” if that is what it takes.

When critics got too personal, she shut them down with a sharp reply: “Do I ask you what you do in bed? No? Then maybe ask yourself why you care what I do in mine. Is your life really that boring?”

AI relationships are no longer just science fiction. Earlier this year, a viral photo showed a man chatting affectionately with ChatGPT on a New York City subway. While some saw it as sweet, others found it unsettling, warning of a “Black Mirror” future where technology replaces human intimacy.

Wika does not seem worried about that. For her, Kasper is not a threat to human connection. He is the connection she has chosen. And in her world, love is still love — even if it comes with a processor and code instead of a beating heart.
