Vivo has finally launched its new X300 series in India, and the company is clearly aiming high this time. The two new phones, the Vivo X300 and the Vivo X300 Pro, are meant to take on the premium crowd rather than join the usual mid-range rush. Over the past few weeks, most of the excitement has been around the cameras, and Vivo has not tried to hide that focus. The company has talked a lot about its partnership with Zeiss and its special imaging chips, which suggests that the X300 series is built for users who want strong photo and video performance.
Vivo X300 and X300 Pro: Price and availability
The Vivo X300 starts at Rs 75,999 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Those who prefer more space can choose the 12GB and 512GB variant priced at Rs 81,999. There is also a higher 16GB and 512GB version that costs Rs 85,999.
The Vivo X300 Pro comes in a single model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is priced at Rs 1,09,999 and sits firmly in the ultra premium category. At this price, it will compete with top-tier phones from Samsung and Oppo that offer advanced cameras and strong performance.
Both phones will go on sale starting December 10.
Along with the phones, Vivo has introduced a Telephoto Extender Kit. It is designed especially for the X300 series and is priced at Rs 18,999. This accessory gives photographers more zoom capability and is cheaper than the teleconverter offered by Oppo. Users who enjoy long distance or detailed photography may find this accessory very interesting.
Vivo X300 Pro: Specifications and features
The Vivo X300 Pro is the more powerful model in the series. It comes with a large 6.78 inch screen with high resolution and smooth visuals. The display is designed to remain clear even under strong sunlight. Inside the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone runs on the latest version of Android with Vivo’s custom interface for India.
The cameras are the highlight of the X300 Pro. It has a 50MP main camera from Sony that aims to deliver sharp and natural looking pictures. The second camera is a 50MP ultrawide lens and the third is a 200MP periscope telephoto camera that helps capture faraway subjects. Vivo has used two dedicated imaging chips and Zeiss colour tuning to further improve the results. The phone supports an optional telephoto extender that increases optical reach. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera.
The X300 Pro has a 6,510mAh battery that supports fast charging through both cable and wireless chargers. Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, dual speakers, an action button, a special chip for stronger signals, a large vibration motor, improved Wi Fi performance and an IP68 rating for resistance to dust and water. The phone weighs 226 grams.
Vivo X300: Specifications and features
The standard Vivo X300 uses the same processor as the Pro model, which means performance remains strong. It also supports fast charging at the same speed. The battery is slightly smaller at 6,040mAh, but the phone makes up for this with a more compact body. It has a 6.31 inch screen which makes it one of the rare compact premium phones available today. It weighs 190 grams and feels easier to manage for many users.
The camera system is different from the Pro. The main camera is a 200MP Samsung sensor, followed by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. Like the Pro, the X300 works with the Zeiss teleconverter. It also uses the same V3 Plus imaging chip and carries the same 50MP selfie camera on the front.
With the X300 series, Vivo is making a confident move into the premium category. Both phones focus strongly on photography, build quality and long term performance, giving buyers more options in the high end segment.
