Vivo is all set to shake up the foldable phone market in India. After confirming the launch of its compact flagship Vivo X200 FE, the company has now revealed that the much-awaited Vivo X Fold5 is also coming to India and much sooner than expected. While there’s no exact date yet, reports suggest it could launch as early as the first half of July, possibly alongside the X200 FE.

The X Fold5 was recently launched in China, so the Indian variant is likely to be very similar in terms of design and specs. Vivo has already listed some details on its official page, giving us a pretty good idea of what to expect.

The phone is surprisingly slim and lightweight. It weighs just 217 grams, measures 0.43 cm when unfolded, and 0.92 cm when folded — pretty sleek for something that folds in half!

The X Fold5 features a massive 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED inner display, perfect for streaming, gaming, or multitasking. There’s also a handy 6.53-inch outer display for quick use. Both displays come with a 120Hz refresh rate and go super bright — up to 4,500 nits.

Powering the device is the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and a whopping 1TB of storage. On the camera front, you get a versatile setup with a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera (with OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Selfies are handled by a 20MP front camera, and as always, Vivo’s collaboration with ZEISS ensures better clarity and reduced glare, thanks to the T coating*.

Battery life looks solid too. The X Fold5 packs a huge 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. Plus, it has an IPX9+ rating, which means it can handle high-pressure water sprays — something pretty rare in foldables.

As for the price, in China, it starts at around ¥6,999 (about ₹85,000) and goes up to ¥9,499 (around ₹1.15 lakh). While Indian pricing isn’t official yet, expect some variation when it launches.

If you’ve been waiting for a foldable that combines power, style, and durability, the Vivo X Fold5 might just be worth the wait — and the wait isn’t going to be long!
