Vivo is set to expand its V-series lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo V70 and the Vivo V70 Elite. The brand has positioned the series around design, display quality, and camera performance, while adding stronger hardware this generation.
India launch timeline
According to the available details, the Vivo V70 series will debut in India on February 19. Pre-bookings are expected to remain open until February 24, with official sales starting from February 25. The smartphones will be sold through Amazon and Flipkart alongside offline retail channels.
Expected features and hardware
The Vivo V70 Elite is expected to lead the lineup with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. It is tipped to feature a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support along with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
On the display side, the Elite variant is said to offer a 1.5K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. The flat screen design with thin bezels focuses on media consumption and outdoor visibility.
Camera remains a major focus for the V-series. The V70 Elite is expected to feature a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP Zeiss-branded telephoto lens, an ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera. Support for 4K HDR video and AI-based audio cleanup tools is also expected.
The standard Vivo V70 is tipped to carry a similar camera setup with slight hardware differences.
Both phones are expected to run OriginOS 6 and receive four Android OS updates along with six years of security patches.
Expected price in India
Leaked pricing suggests the Vivo V70 may start at Rs 45,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, going up to Rs 49,999 for 12GB + 256GB.
The Vivo V70 Elite is tipped to begin at Rs 51,999 for 8GB + 256GB, with higher variants priced at Rs 56,999 and Rs 61,999 depending on RAM and storage configurations.
With pricing moving into the sub-flagship category, the Vivo V70 series appears focused on buyers who prioritise camera performance, display quality, long software support, and fast charging rather than raw gaming benchmarks.
The upcoming launch will determine how well Vivo’s design-centric approach competes in India’s increasingly crowded premium mid-range smartphone segment.
