After multiple teasers in the last few weeks, Vivo has finally announced the launch date of its S50 series in China. The smartphone maker is already accepting pre-reservations for the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini via its official online store in China. Moreover, the brand has also shared new images and teaser videos of both phones on the Chinese microblogging platform, Weibo, ahead of their launch next week.
Vivo S50, Vivo S50 Pro Mini: Launch date, expected features and design
The Vivo S50 series will be introduced in China on December 15, as confirmed by Vivo through a Weibo post. The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is confirmed to launch in Confession, Inspiration Purple and Space Gray colour options, while the vanilla Vivo S50 will be available in Confession, Inspiration Purple, Serene Blue, and Space Gray shades.
The company has already revealed that the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be powered by the newly introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is claimed to score over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform. It will also pack LPDDR5X RAM (up to 9600Mbps) and UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo has also confirmed that the phone will sport a 6.31-inch flat display and will feature a 50MP Sony IMX882 1/1.95-inch periscope telephoto shooter.
Like its predecessor, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will house a 6,500 mAh battery and support 90W wired charging. The phone will also support 40W wireless charging. Meanwhile, the Vivo S50 will likely come with a 6.59-inch flat OLED 1.5K screen. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. More details about these phones should be revealed in the coming days ahead of the launch.
