Samsung has announced the Fit India Walk-a-thon ‘26 in India, a step-count challenge hosted on the Samsung Health app. The initiative is aimed at encouraging daily physical activity and is open exclusively to users in India. The challenge will go live on Republic Day and will run for a fixed 30-day period.

According to Samsung, the Walk-a-thon is part of its ongoing efforts to promote healthier routines through everyday movement, while also adding a competitive and reward-based element for participants using the Samsung Health platform.

Registration and challenge timeline

Registrations for the Fit India Walk-a-thon ‘26 open on January 22, 2026, through the Samsung Health app. The challenge will officially begin on January 26 and conclude on February 24, 2026.

During this period, participants are required to complete a total of 2,00,000 steps within 30 days to qualify for rewards. Users can track their daily steps directly within the app, which will also display progress over the duration of the challenge.

Rewards and prizes

Samsung has confirmed that users who successfully complete the 2,00,000-step target will be eligible to enter a lucky draw. Upon completion, participants will receive a scratch card in the Samsung Members app under the Benefits section.

Three winners will receive Amazon gift cards worth Rs 10,000 each, while 1,000 additional winners will receive Amazon gift cards worth Rs 500 each. Winners will be selected through the lucky draw mechanism after the challenge period ends.

Tracking progress on Samsung Health

Throughout the Walk-a-thon, users can monitor their performance using the Samsung Health app. A built-in leaderboard allows participants to compare their step count with others and track their standing during the challenge.

Samsung says the leaderboard and progress tracking features are designed to help users stay consistent and engaged over the 30-day duration.

Samsung Health is a global wellness and lifestyle platform that enables users to track health metrics such as steps, exercise, heart rate, calorie intake, blood pressure, ECG, and sleep patterns. The app also allows users to set personalised goals, monitor daily activity levels, and access fitness programs.

In addition, Samsung Health supports medication reminders and storage of medical records such as lab reports, prescriptions, and immunisation details, allowing users to refer to them when needed.

How to participate

To take part in the Fit India Walk-a-thon ‘26, users need to register through the Samsung Health app starting January 22, ensure step tracking is enabled, and complete 2,00,000 steps between January 26 and February 24, 2026.
