Samsung Galaxy S25 FE vs Galaxy S24 FE: What’s new and is it worth upgrading?
After months of leaks and speculations, Samsung has finally introduced its next-generation Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S25 FE. Like its predecessors, the S25 FE aims to walk the line between flagship and midrange, offering potent hardware and software without the ultra-premium price of the Galaxy S25 series.
Design Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE comes with flat sides, rounded corners, and a triple rear camera setup. However, it is a slightly thinner device, with a 7.4mm thickness, compared to the 8.0mm thickness of the Galaxy S24 FE. It is also quite lighter, weighing 190 g, compared to the 213g of the S24 FE. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 FE has an Armour Aluminium frame and maintains IP68 protection for improved resistance against dust and water.

Display In terms of display, the Galaxy S25 FE offers the same 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, with Full HD+ resolution and a up to 120 Hz refresh rate, like the Galaxy S24 FE. The bezels are now slightly thinner on the newer model, and brightness remains unchanged at 1900 nits. Both devices also offer Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Performance Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 FE is powered by the improved Exynos 2400 chip with a large vapor chamber for improved sustained performance, which is a big upgrade from the under-clocked Exynos 2400e in the S24 FE. However, the RAM is still 8 GB standard across both models, with up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. Out of the box, the S25 FE runs Android 16 with Samsung’s latest One UI 8, with the Galaxy S24 FE yet to receive it. Both handsets also pack various Galaxy AI tools like Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and more.

Camera In terms of optics, both phones have an identical rear camera setup, with a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. However, on the front, the Galaxy S25 FE features an upgraded 12MP sensor with autofocus for selfies and video calls, upgrading from the 10MP selfie camera on the Galaxy S24 FE.
