
Poco M8 5G is set to be the upcoming budget smartphone from the brand. While its specifications and features remain under wraps, the company has now teased the design of the phone. A Flipkart microsite for the Poco M8 5G has also gone live, suggesting that the phone will be available on the e-commerce platform for purchase. Moreover, the device is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, which launches on January 6 in India.
Poco M8 5G: Expected design, specifications
Through a new post on X, Poco has confirmed that the upcoming Poco M8 5G will measure 7.35mm in thickness and will weigh about 178g. The Xiaomi sub-brand has also claimed that the Poco M8 5G will be the ‘slimmest and lightest’ smartphone in its segment. The teaser also gives us a first look at the side frame of the smartphone in a black shade. More details about the handset, including its specifications and launch date, are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Further, a dedicated microsite for the Poco M8 5G, which also gives us a first look at its rear design. It also teases Poco’s familiar dual-tone finish with lighter black and grey vertical strips at the back. The handset is also confirmed to get a squircle camera design this time, instead of the circular deco that we saw on its predecessor, the Poco M7 5G.
In terms of specifications, the POCO M8 5G is likely to come with a 6.77-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the Redmi Note 15 5G, the phone could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset backed by a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It is also tipped to come with an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. As for its pricing, the Poco M8 5G is expected to have a starting price below Rs 15,000 in India.
