X, formerly known as Twitter, has rolled out a new feature that highlights the most-liked tweets in individual countries over the past 30 days. Data surfaced through this feature shows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most dominant political presence on the platform in India during this period. According to the list, PM Modi accounts for eight of the top ten most-liked tweets nationwide, with no other political leader featuring in the top ten.
The platform’s country-specific ranking is designed to offer users a snapshot of the posts that generated the highest engagement within a defined time window. In India, the results point to a clear concentration of engagement around posts shared by the Prime Minister. The remaining two positions in the top ten are occupied by non-political accounts, highlighting the absence of other political figures from the list.
This dataset reflects likes accumulated organically over the last month, rather than lifetime engagement or follower count. X has positioned the feature as a way to surface culturally and nationally relevant conversations based on measurable user interaction.
Among the tweets listed, Modi’s post showing him presenting a Russian-language copy of the Bhagavad Gita to Russian President Vladimir Putin ranked as the most-liked tweet in India during the period. In the post, the Prime Minister described the scripture as a source of inspiration for people across the world.
Another highly ranked tweet featured Modi welcoming President Putin upon his arrival in New Delhi, a moment from the Russian leader’s December visit to India. The accompanying message referred to the long-standing India-Russia relationship and outlined expectations from the bilateral engagements scheduled during the visit.
The rankings underline the Prime Minister’s continued ability to generate large-scale engagement on X, particularly around diplomatic moments and symbolic gestures. While the feature does not provide detailed metrics such as exact like counts or reach, the concentration of Modi’s posts in the top ten points to consistent audience interaction over the past month.
