OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has once again showcased an anime-style image. This time it is a picture of himself as a cricket player. Altman in a post on social media platform X said that he gave the prompt: "sam altman as a cricket player in anime style.” The result? An image of Altman holding a cricket bat while donning a jersey emblazoned with the word "India." The image, created using OpenAI's advanced image-generation capabilities, is one of the thousands that have been part of growing trend of Studio Ghibli-inspired art that has taken social media by storm.
Altman's post comes amid a surge in AI-generated art, particularly in India, where users have embraced the whimsical aesthetic of Ghibli-style images. Earlier, Altman has also reshared Studio Ghibli versions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside other key global personalities, such as Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron, which were initially posted by MyGov’s official X account this week.
The trend has sparked widespread creativity, with many recreating iconic moments from Indian cricket history using AI tools. Altman himself has praised India's rapid adoption of AI, noting the country's significant contributions to the global AI landscape. In a recent post on social media platform X, Altman lauded India’s progress in AI, stating, “What’s happening with AI adoption in India right now is amazing to watch. We love to see the explosion of creativity — India is outpacing the world.”
