OnePlus unveiled its latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 13, in China last year, which came with the usual set of upgrades from the brand and the traditional Hasselblad collaboration for fine tuning its cameras. However, a tipster has now given out some additional details about the company’s next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, hinting at its key details and suggesting that OnePlus could introduce its imaging setup in a very long while.
OnePlus 15: Expected specifications, camera details
According to a Weibo post by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OnePlus 15 will come with a lower 1.5K resolution panel, which will be a departure from the QHD+ panel that has been standard on the last few OnePlus flagship smartphones. Further, the tipster adds that it would come with a flat display, which is another big change from the norm, as the last few OnePlus number series phones have adopted curved-edge displays, and more recently quad-curved panel with the OnePlus 13.
Moreover, OnePlus is also expected to debut a new camera imaging engine with the launch of the OnePlus 15, which could be similar to Oppo's Lumo imaging engine, which debuted with the recently launched Oppo Find X8s and Find X8 Ultra smartphones. This means that the company could drop the iconic Hasselblad collaboration with its upcoming flagship smartphone.
The tipster also adds that the company could retain a triple 50MP setup on the back, consisting of the main wide, ultra-wide, and a 3x periscope zoom, like the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 15 is also expected to pack the SM8550 chip, which would be the successor to Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is likely to launch in China by the end of this year, with a global release in 2026.
