Minecraft will no longer be supported on PlayStationVR (PSVR) for PlayStation 4, Mojang announced in a website post. In a post related to Minecraft - 1.21.30 (Bedrock) on Minecraft.net, the Swedish game developer noted that it is ending Minecraft support for PlayStationVR (PSVR) in March 2025.

“Our ability to support PlayStationVR has come to an end, and will no longer be supported in updates after March of 2025. After you receive the final update, you will still receive updates on your PlayStation and be able to play without PlayStationVR,” the Minecraft maker noted.

“You will no longer be able to use your PlayStationVR with Minecraft as it will no longer be supported in the latest updates,” said Mojang in the Minecraft.net post.

Mojang added that players can keep building their worlds, and their Marketplace purchases (including Tokens) will continue to be available.

Minecraft also does not support PSVR2 for PlayStation 5 and considering Mojang has pulled the plug on Minecraft’s PSVR support, it does not look likely if it will ever add PSVR2 support for Minecraft. On the PS5, however, Minecraft is getting a native PS5 version. Minecraft developers “are working on bringing a native version of Minecraft to the PS5”, Mojang had revealed in an earlier post.

Minecraft Live to happen twice a year

In an earlier post, Minecraft developers divulged that they’re “changing the format for Minecraft Live, and retiring the mob vote.” Minecraft Live will also now happen twice a year.

In each Minecraft Live show, players can learn about the upcoming features, the features being tested, and the latest news from the Minecraft franchise.
