Apple has confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The event will be hosted online, with a limited in-person gathering scheduled at Apple Park on June 8. The conference is expected to focus on updates across Apple’s software ecosystem and developer tools.

Event dates and format

WWDC 2026 will run for five days, starting June 8. Apple will begin the conference with its keynote and Platforms State of the Union on the first day. The rest of the week will include over 100 sessions, along with group labs and one-on-one appointments for developers.

The event will be accessible globally through the Apple Developer app, Apple’s official website, and its YouTube channel. Developers in China will also be able to follow sessions through the company’s bilibili channel.

In addition to the online format, Apple will host a special in-person event at Apple Park on June 8. Attendance will be limited, and developers and students will need to apply through the Apple Developer website.

What to expect

Apple has indicated that WWDC 2026 will highlight updates across its platforms, including advancements in artificial intelligence and new developer tools. The company will also provide insights into frameworks, features, and technologies that developers can integrate into their apps.

The conference will allow developers to interact directly with Apple engineers and designers through labs and sessions. These interactions are aimed at helping developers understand new announcements and implement them effectively.

Student participation and Swift challenge

Apple will continue its Swift Student Challenge as part of WWDC. Selected students will be notified on March 26 and will be eligible to attend the in-person event at Apple Park.

Additionally, 50 distinguished winners will be invited to Cupertino for a three-day experience. The initiative is part of Apple’s efforts to support students and early-stage developers.

Where to watch

The keynote and sessions will be streamed through multiple platforms, including the Apple Developer app, the official Apple Developer website, and Apple’s YouTube channel. Apple is expected to share more details closer to the event.

WWDC remains one of Apple’s key annual events, where the company outlines its software direction for the year and introduces tools for its developer community.
