Mark Zuckerberg's Meta Platforms recently hosted its annual Meta Connect 2024 event. The company also launched its second-generation smart glasses, the RayBan Meta, last year. Now, Meta is significantly upgrading the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses’ artificial intelligence (AI) powers. The company showed off several new abilities for the frames onstage at its Connect event, including reminders and live translations.
These features include real-time AI video processing and live language translation. Moreover, with the Meta smart glasses’ built-in camera, you can send custom items like QR codes and integrations with iHeartRadio and Audible.
Moreover, with the help of Meta’s new Llama 3.2 model, RayBan smart glasses can do live translation. In a live demo, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg spoke with Brandon Moreno, with one person speaking English and the other in Spanish. Interestingly, the Meta glasses translated the conversations for each person.
Another Meta AI improvement is that we now get memory support on the smart glasses. You’ll be able to ask the wearable to remind you where you parked or to pick up fruits at the store. With these advancements, the RayBan smart glasses become more helpful in everyday life. Additionally, all of these features work completely hands-free.
Although Meta didn't provide an exact date for when we can expect these updates, but company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that they're coming soon. Meta is also launching a new limited-edition version of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses in clear frames.
