LG to showcase next-generation mobility technology powered by generative AI
LG Electronics said it will unveil its new AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, marking a significant step toward the AI-defined vehicle era. The company said the platform is designed for automotive high-performance computing systems and is powered by Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Elite. The showcase, scheduled for January 6–9 in Las Vegas, will demonstrate how generative AI can shape in-vehicle experiences as part of LG’s private CES exhibit.

AI-defined mobility capabilities
LG said the AI Cabin Platform integrates vision language models, large language models, and image generation models into its in-vehicle infotainment system. With on-device processing enabled by Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, all AI tasks run within the vehicle, removing the need for cloud connectivity. According to the company, this approach improves real-time responsiveness while strengthening privacy and data security.
The platform evaluates the driving environment and driver condition using internal and external vehicle cameras. Based on this analysis, it can deliver personalised alerts and support situational awareness. LG shared an example where the system detects an approaching vehicle during a merge and notifies the driver with a relevant prompt.

Context-aware personalization
The AI Cabin Platform can dynamically generate infotainment interfaces based on the driver’s mood and surroundings. LG said that if a user is listening to music on a snowy night, the system can create a matching visual background and recommend related playlists. This reflects LG’s goal of making the in-car experience adaptive and personalised.
