LG has launched a new range of air conditioners for India, and this one is clearly aimed at everyday homes rather than premium showpieces. LG Electronics India Limited has introduced the Essential Series air conditioners, which are made in India and designed specifically for Indian weather, power conditions, and usage patterns.
According to the company, the new Essential Series focuses on things Indian households actually deal with during summer, like extreme heat, high humidity, and frequent voltage fluctuations. The idea is to offer steady cooling that does not spike electricity bills or require too much extra care. LG says the range also follows the new 2026 Bureau of Energy Efficiency star rating rules, which come into effect next year.
Price and availability
LG has not shared exact pricing for individual models yet, but the Essential Series will be available across multiple capacities and star ratings. The air conditioners will be sold through LG retail stores and authorised dealers across India.
The company has confirmed that the models come with a 10 year warranty on the inverter compressor, which is now fairly standard in this category. Availability has already started in major cities, with wider rollout expected soon.
Specs and features
At the heart of the Essential Series is LG’s Smart Inverter Compressor. This technology allows the compressor to adjust its speed based on how much cooling is needed. When you switch the AC on, it cools the room quickly, and once the set temperature is reached, it slows down to maintain comfort while using less power. LG says this also helps keep noise levels low.
The ACs also come with Variable Tonnage Technology, which works alongside the inverter system to balance cooling and energy use throughout the day.
One of the key features is Convertible 6 in 1 cooling. This lets users choose different modes depending on their needs. There is a Diet mode meant for saving electricity during regular use, and multiple Active Energy Control options to limit power consumption. For very hot days, VIRAAT mode boosts cooling performance and allows the AC to run at lower temperatures.
For durability, the Essential Series uses Gold Fin Plus coating to protect key components from rust, along with 100 percent copper tubing. These are meant to handle humidity and long term wear better.
The ACs are also designed to work without an external stabiliser. They can operate across a wide voltage range from 140V to 295V, which is useful in areas with unstable power supply.
Overall, the Essential Series looks like LG’s attempt to offer a no fuss air conditioner that focuses on reliability, energy control, and cooling that fits Indian conditions rather than flashy extras.
