Kodak has entered the Mini LED TV segment in India with the launch of its new Mini QD TVs, starting with a 65-inch model. With this launch, the company is aiming to tap into the growing demand for high-performance televisions that offer a more immersive viewing experience at home. The new TV combines Mini LED backlighting with Quantum Dot technology, promising brighter visuals, deeper blacks, and more accurate colours. Kodak is also putting equal focus on sound, packing in a powerful 108W speaker system to deliver a more cinematic feel.
The company says the new Mini QD TV is designed for users who want a complete entertainment package — not just better picture quality, but also strong audio and smart features. With support for popular streaming apps and gaming-friendly features, the TV looks to cater to a wide range of users, from binge-watchers to gamers.
Price and availability
The Kodak Mini QD LED 4K TV is priced at Rs 54,999 for the 65-inch variant. Buyers can also avail a bank discount of Rs 3,000, bringing the effective price down further. The TV is available exclusively on Amazon.
Specs and features
On the specifications front, the TV comes with a 65-inch 4K Ultra HD display powered by a Mini QD panel. It supports up to 1500 nits of peak brightness and offers a contrast ratio of 100000:1, which should help deliver better clarity in both bright and dark scenes. The panel supports over 1.1 billion colours and comes with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG support for improved picture quality.
One of the key highlights is the audio setup. The TV features six built-in speakers, including subwoofers and sky subwoofers, delivering a total output of 108W. With Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus support, Kodak is aiming to offer a more immersive, theatre-like sound experience.
The TV runs on the Google TV platform, giving users access to over 10,000 apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and Apple TV. It is powered by a MediaTek processor paired with a Mali-G52 GPU, along with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage for smooth performance and navigation.
For gamers, the TV includes a 120Hz refresh rate along with features like MEMC, ALLM, and VRR for smoother gameplay. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and support for Chromecast and Apple AirPlay.
Overall, Kodak’s new Mini QD TV aims to deliver a balanced mix of picture quality, sound performance, and smart features at a competitive price point.
