The anticipation around the iPhone 17 lineup is already building, despite the launch being several months away. This upcoming Apple flagship series is expected to come with major upgrades in the software and hardware departments, with a fresh design. This year, the iPhone 17 lineup will likely include the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new addition – the iPhone 17 Air, which is likely to replace the iPhone Plus series.
Several leaks and rumours have also given us an idea of how all the smartphones in the Apple iPhone 17 series will look like. With all things put aside, we now take a look at all of these changes.
iPhone 17 series: Expected major upgrades and features
Like previous generation Apple smartphones, all models in the iPhone 17 series are expected to feature OLED displays, with the Pro Max model coming with a large 6.9-inch screen and the Pro model coming with a 6.3-inch screen size. The new iPhone 17 Air will likely come with a 6.6-inch display. Notably, all these smartphones will reportedly come with 120Hz ProMotion support. However, the vanilla iPhone 17 will likely miss on this.
If we talk about the performance, all the iPhone 17 models will likely be powered by Apple’s latest A19 and A19 Pro SoCs. The standard iPhone 17 and the Air variant are tipped to be backed by the A19 chip, while the Pro and Pro Max will get the A19 Pro. In terms of memory, the Pro models will likely offer 12GB RAM, while the standard models could come with 8GB RAM.
When it comes to camera, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumoured to feature a triple-lens 48MP camera setup, including a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the base models could offer 48MP dual camera setups. Further, the iPhone 17 series will likely have a horizontal camera module, differing from Apple’s traditional triangular camera arrangement.
However, the new entrant in the Apple lineup, the iPhone 17 Air could offer a thinner design, as it is expected to be just 5.5mm thick, making it the slimmest iPhone ever.
