Jio Platforms Limited, Tata Communications Limited, Yotta Data Services were among the 19 top tech and cloud service providers to have bid for the government's tender to procure 10,000 graphics processing units and make it available for startups, researchers and academicians under the Rs 10,738-crore IndiaAI Mission.
Other notable bidders include Sify Digital Services, NxtGen Datacenter and Cloud Technologies, E2E Networks Limited and Ctrls Datacenters Ltd.
Through bulk procurement of GPUs under the IndiaAI Mission, the government aims to lower prices without causing losses to manufacturers, MeitY secretary S Krishnan had earlier said.
The bids, submitted by November 28, 2024, were opened on December 2. The technical evaluation committee will now assess eligibility and technical criteria before inviting shortlisted bidders for solution presentations.
Commercial bids will follow for those meeting the technical requirements. This empanelment will be valid for three years with an option to extend by another year
Other bidders include CMS Computers India Pvt Ltd, CloudThat Technologies, Cyfuture, Hostin Services Private Limited, I2k2 Networks Private Limited, Ishan Infotech Limited, Locuz Enterprise Solutions Limited, Orient Technologies Limited, Path Infotech Limited, Shezar Web Technologies Private Limited, Unicloud Labs Pvt Ltd and Vensysco Technologies Limited.
