Huawei Pura 80 series with four new models and innovative camera features announced: Price, specs

Huawei has unveiled the Pura 80 series in China, consisting of the Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra smartphones. The highlight of the lineup is the Pura 80 Ultra, which comes with a unique dual-lens telephoto camera.

Huawei has introduced the Pura 80 series in China this week. The lineup includes four models: the vanilla Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and the Pura 80 Ultra. These smartphones come with a top-tier camera system, with the flagship Pura 80 Ultra coming with a new switchable telephoto camera system, which includes two lenses with dual optical focal lengths. However, Huawei hasn’t disclosed any chipset details for any of the Pura 80 series phones, and these devices likely come with Kirin-based SoCs.

Huawei Pura 80 series: Price

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is priced at CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1,18,900) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1,30,800) for the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage options. Meanwhile, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ is priced at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 95,100) for the 16GB + 512GB option, and CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1,07,000) for the 16GB + 1TB variant. The Huawei Pura 80 Pro has a starting price of CNY 6,499 (around Rs 77,300) and goes up to CNY 7,999 (around Rs 95,100).

The Pura 80 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra smartphones of the lineup are currently available for purchase in China. However, the company has yet to announce the price and availability details of the Huawei Pura 80.

Huawei Pura 80 series: Specifications, features

The base Pura 80 comes with a 6.6-inch LTPO 120Hz screen and a 5,600mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support. In terms of optics, it comes with a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 5.5x optical zoom, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 1.5MP spectral sensor.

On the other hand, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and the Pura 80 Ultra sport a 6.8-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display. They also come with HarmonyOS 5.1 and pack a 5,700mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging support. However, in the camera department, the main attraction of the Pura 80 Ultra is the switchable 50MP telephoto camera system, which uses two telephoto lenses with 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom, using the sensor shift technology. The Pro smartphones instead offer 48MP macro telephoto shooters with up to 4x optical zoom.

These three smartphones come with identical 1-inch 50MP main cameras, a 40MP ultrawide shooter, and a 1.5MP Red Maple spectral camera.
