A newly surfaced photograph linked to Jeffrey Epstein is raising fresh questions about his connections with some of the world’s most powerful tech leaders.

The image, which comes from documents released by the US Department of Justice, shows Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg sitting next to each other at a dinner in 2015 that was hosted by Epstein. The dinner was described by Epstein himself as “wild” in an email he sent to himself that year.

The photo, dated August 2015, appears to show nine people seated around a table. Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, is seen beside Musk, who leads Tesla. Also visible in the image are Peter Thiel and Joi Ito. Epstein himself does not appear in the picture, though it is believed he may have taken the photograph.

In a separate email sent later the same month, Epstein wrote that he had dinner with “zuckerburg, mu=k, thiel hoffman, wild.” The message also mentions Reid Hoffman, though Hoffman and Thiel do not appear in the photo that has been released.

Several people in the image, including Musk, appear to be looking at something or someone outside the frame. The setting and full context of the dinner remain unclear.

Meta has previously said that Zuckerberg met Epstein only once and that it was brief. According to the company, Zuckerberg did not maintain contact with Epstein after the dinner. Musk has also addressed the meeting in the past. In a 2019 email to Vanity Fair, he described Epstein as “a creep,” confirmed he attended the dinner, but said he did not introduce Zuckerberg to Epstein. Musk has also stated that he never attended any party organised by Epstein.

After the latest document release, Musk posted on X saying he had very little contact with Epstein and had declined repeated invitations to visit Epstein’s island or travel on his private jet.

The documents also include an email Epstein sent to celebrity doctor Peter Attia, mentioning plans for a dinner with Musk, Thiel, and Zuckerberg. Attia replied that it sounded like “an awesome dinner.”

The photo and emails are part of a larger set of files released on January 30 under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The release includes emails, photos, and other records from federal investigations, once again drawing attention to Epstein’s wide-ranging network and the unanswered questions surrounding it.
