Destiny Rising gets a confirmed release date: Key details on the first Destiny mobile game

Destiny: Rising, Bungie’s first-ever Destiny game for the mobile platform, has a confirmed release date. The mobile-only RPG shooter, announced in October last year, will launch on Android and iOS on August 28, Bungie’s development partner NetEase Games announced on the game website. Destiny: Rising also received its first trailer which showcases the gameplay and various game modes.

Destiny Rising: Setting
Destiny: Rising is an all-new saga in the Destiny game universe and set in an "alternate timeline before the events of the original game". That should encourage new players as they aren’t required to have played the Destiny games and/or be knowledgeable about the Destiny lore.

Destiny Rising: Play as new or iconic characters
You can decide to play as “Wolf”, a "fully customizable" Lightbearer, but you can also go for well-known Destiny characters like Ikora Rey and Iron Lord Jolder. “Each Lightbearer bears a Relic that grants them unique abilities and Super Abilities, drastically altering their play style”, NetEase Games said in the announcement post.

Destiny Rising: Gameplay modes and features
Destiny: Rising features single-player, co-op and competitive multiplayer gameplay with brand-new game modes as well as those from the Destiny games. The first Destiny mobile game comes with “missions, strikes, PvP battles, and six-player PvE activities along with a variety of open world objectives.”

Destiny Rising: Loadout
In Destiny: Rising, you can take a customisable Primary and Power Weapon into battle.” Also, characters will be able to share compatible weapons across their arsenal, NetEase Games noted. The sci-fi mobile RPG will also add “new Mythic-tier rarity for gear, as well as a whole new weapon type.”

Destiny Rising: Pre-registrations are open
You can now pre-register for Destiny: Rising on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free. To make things more interesting for players, NetEase Games is offering pre-registration bonuses for Destiny: Rising with a pre-registration event. With each player milestone, the Destiny Rising pre-registration event will unlock new rewards. At the time of writing this article, 5,968,195 players have pre-registered for the game already. The final reward will unlock once the player milestone reaches 10 million. The special bonuses will be waiting for the registered players when the sci-fi mobile RPG launches.
