Blizzard Entertainment has launched the Overwatch: Classic limited-time event in its free-to-play team-based shooting game Overwatch 2. The Overwatch: Classic event started on November 12 and will run till December 2.
Overwatch Classic is supposed to be a nostalgic trip that will take players, heroes and the game back to “moments in the game’s history for limited time events”, Blizzard announced in a website post.
Overwatch Classic is not a separate game but an in-game mode that is playable in Overwatch 2 till December 2. You don’t have to install Overwatch Classic separately. The limited-time Overwatch Classic event can be accessed from the Events Hub and the Arcade in the Main Menu.
Blizzard is basing the first Overwatch Classic event on the original patch 1.0 release from May 2016, which brings back the gameplay and abilities seen in that patch.
Overwatch Classic: Gameplay Rules
Overwatch Classic features the original 21 heroes and twelve original launch maps. You'll play across four original game modes: Assault, Escort, Hybrid, and Control. “There will be no hero limits and no role limits as you play for the first few days of the event. After that we will enable the single hero limit rule for the remainder of the event. Heroes will be organized in their four original classes, Offense, Defense, Tanks, and Supports”, said Blizzard in the blog post.

Overwatch Classic’s Tank Heroes include D.Va, Reinhardt, Roadhog, Winston and Zarya while the Support Heroes are Lúcio, Mercy, Symmetra and Zenyatta.
