Apple is expected to refresh its MacBook Pro lineup in the coming days, as a new report claims that new MacBook Pro models will be released very soon. This time, the focus will reportedly be on faster performance as the upcoming MacBook Pro models are expected to ship with new chipsets that make them quicker and more powerful. Moreover, these laptops could be released alongside the macOS 26.3 software cycle, which is expected to be released between the end of February and March.
Apple’s M5-series MacBook Pro models to launch soon: Key details
According to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, Apple plans to introduce new MacBook Pro models powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chipsets soon. This lineup could see an ‘imminent’ release, and the report adds that the new hardware is deeply integrated with macOS 26.3, hinting at a late February or March release timeline.
In the last few years, Apple has linked spring MacBook hardware announcements to later macOS x.4 software releases, which usually arrive toward the end of March or in April. However, this time around, the company is reportedly changing to an earlier release, with macOS 26.3 currently undergoing beta testing, and its wide release is anticipated soon.
Moreover, with these new M5 family of processors, users can expect improved performance for heavy tasks like video editing, coding, and graphic design. There will likely be no major changes in design, as these laptops are expected to look the same as the current MacBook Pro models, with similar displays, ports, and overall build. Apple is also not expected to host a big launch event for this announcement, and may unveil these MacBook Pro models through a simple press release on its website.
