Apple rolls out iOS 18.2 beta with new ChatGPT features, image generation, and more

Apple has given its beta testers an early taste of more Apple Intelligence features with the rollout of iOS 18.2. Available in beta version, iOS 18.2 also brings a useful addition to the Find My app along with deeper ChatGPT integration. Here are some of the key features of iOS 18.2 beta version:

The Notes app has gained a powerful new tool: Image generation. By highlighting text, users can now generate images based on the selected content using Image Playground.

Apple continues to integrate AI into its ecosystem. iOS 18.2 beta 2 now allows users to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus directly from the Settings app. This simplifies the process of accessing premium features and provides a clearer view of usage limits. Additionally, ChatGPT can be accessed through Siri, offering a hands-free way to interact with the AI.

Apple's Find My app has been further improved with the ability to share the location of a lost item via a link. This link can be accessed on any device, making it easier to enlist help from friends or family. Even if the other person doesn’t have an iPhone or Apple device, they will be able to track the location of the lost item.

For iPhone 16 users, the Camera Control has been enhanced. Users can now lock focus and exposure by lightly pressing on the control, providing more flexibility.

iOS 18.2 beta brings subtle visual changes, with icons now matching the Home Screen's tint for a more cohesive look.

iOS 18.2 also enables iPhone Mirroring while using your iPhone as a hotspot for your Mac.
