With the new year on the horizon, rumours about what Apple may launch have been gathering steam. The rumour mill is abuzz with speculation about the new iPhone SE and how it may be Apple’s first product of 2025. However, a report by Bloomberg notes that before the iPhone SE, Apple may unveil the M4 MacBook Air.
“The M4 MacBook Air line is scheduled to be released after a December software update, so the new machines are likely to arrive between January and March,” the report said. While January to March is a rather broad timeline, it is likely that the M4 MacBook Air arrives in March. Earlier this year, Apple launched the M3 MacBook Air sometime in March only.
What to expect from M4 MacBook Air
In terms of design, it is highly unlikely that Apple does too much tinkering. It was only two years back when Apple revamped the design of the MacBook Air. We have already seen the M4 processor in the MacBook Pro. So you can expect the M4 MacBook Air to feature a more powerful 10-core CPU, with four performance cores and six efficiency cores, and a faster 10-core GPU with Apple’s most advanced graphics architecture. Also, it is expected that the M4 MacBook Air will come with a Neural Engine that’s about three times more powerful than what we have seen in the M1 MacBook Air. The M4 processor is tailor-made for features in Apple Intelligence and other AI workloads.
