We’re still months out from an official reveal, but iPhone 17 Pro rumors are already piling up. Many leaks and rumors are painting a picture of a phone that’s less about radical redesigns and more about meaningful refinements.

From titanium to aluminum?

The biggest change might be the build itself. Apple is rumored to swap titanium for aluminum on the Pro models, which is a bit of a head-scratcher considering the company just hyped titanium on the iPhone 15 and 16 Pros. Still, it could be part of a shift toward a new hybrid design: part-glass, part-aluminum backing.

Also expected is a bold new rectangular camera bump—still rocking the triangular lens layout, but with a more industrial aesthetic. The cameras themselves are due for a leap forward: a 48MP Telephoto lens (up from 12MP) and a 24MP front camera, which should make selfies and FaceTime calls sharper than ever. There’s even talk of 8K video and dual-camera recording using the front and rear lenses at the same time.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro models may get the new A19 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 3nm process, along with 12GB of RAM and improved cooling—possibly via vapor chamber. That combo should help with power efficiency and future Apple Intelligence features. A larger battery is also rumored for the Pro Max, thanks to a slightly thicker chassis.

Connectivity’s getting a boost too, with a custom Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip replacing Broadcom’s. Add in a more scratch-resistant display and you’ve got what could be the most polished Pro iPhone to date.
Apple is expected to launch the new series of iPhones sometime in September 2025. Till then, expect more rumours to do the rounds.
