Last week, a fake Apple event invite was floating around on social media platforms. The fake invite alleged that Apple could unveil the iPhone 16 series on September 10. However, Apple hasn’t officially announced the launch date. So when can you expect the iPhone 16 to launch?
iPhone 16: Rumoured launch dateTraditionally, Apple launches new iPhones in the second week of September and sends out event invites to the media two weeks or so before it. For instance, last year, the event date was announced on August 29 and the event was held on September 2022. Similarly, in 2022, the announcement came on August 2, followed by the event on September 7.
Going back further, in 2021, the announcement was made on September 7, whereas the event took place on September 14. And in 2020, the announcement and event dates were September 8 and 15, respectively. Do keep in mind that in 2020 and 2021, it was a virtual event and Apple didn’t hold an in-person gathering.
Keeping the above pattern in mind, there’s a chance that Apple sends out invites sometime next week around August 27 or 28 and the launch could take place on September 10. However, this is just speculation based on past dates and nothing is confirmed.
iPhone 16 event: What to expectIt is expected that Apple will unveil four new iPhone models in the iPhone 16 series — iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max. Along with the iPhone, three new Apple Watch models are also expected. Apple may launch Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 3 and a new affordable Apple Watch SE.
Rumours also suggest that Apple could unveil the second-generation of AirPods Max and two new models of AirPods. Apple will also confirm the rollout date of iOS 18 and other software updates for its devices at the event.
