As Indian organisations are faced with a wave of technological advancements and economic disruptions, about 65 percent of tech executives identify cybersecurity as their top priority for digital adoption, according to a survey by Deloitte India.

"The survey highlighted a rising focus on cybersecurity measures within organisations and across sectors, as they store sensitive data in the cloud and use interconnected systems," Deloitte India said in a release.

A total of 37 information technology (IT) executives participated in the survey, with 51 percent holding senior positions.

Next in line is cloud computing, with 62 percent of executives acknowledging its unmatched scalability and agility. About 54 percent of respondents are optimistic that Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning's (AI/ML) will help organisations automate tasks, enhance decision-making, and foster innovation.

"A lot of discussions are happening in terms of cost efficiencies as far as adoption of cloud is concerned. Over a period of time, clients are recognising the fact that not only the cost but in terms of ease of operations you need to be accessible all the time in today's world," Deepa Seshadri, Partner, Deloitte India, told Moneycontrol.

Additionally, about 85 percent of participants grapple with the complexity of the technology environment, encompassing technical, organisational, and process-related issues.

The report highlights some key takeaways, such as a shift in the preferred technologies, and chief investment officers will have to remain agile to adopt future technologies across business functions. While cybersecurity, cloud, and AI/ML will continue to remain important, generative AI and humancentric technologies will be some of the key drivers of future digital transformation.
