The timeless adage that "catches win matches" has certainly withstood the test of time. There have been countless instances where a spectacular catch has either dramatically shifted the momentum of a game or changed its entire course.
Such a moment occurred during the match between Northern Superchargers and London Spirit in The Hundred at Headingley, Leeds, on Tuesday.
After being asked to bat first by Northern Superchargers, London Spirit began their innings with Michael Pepper and Keaton Jennings.
Pepper lofted the 11th ball of the innings from Reece Topley over mid-on, prompting Mitchell Santner to give chase. With the ball swirling high above, Santner sprinted from mid-on and executed a superb diving catch at deep mid-on to dismiss Pepper for just 3 runs.
