Harshit Rana's inclusion to India's Test squad for the five-match series against England has triggered a fresh controversy. The bowler was originally part of India A squad and after the conclusion of the unofficial Tests he has been linked up with the main squad.

However, the development has not sit well with fans and experts, who highlighted his close association with head coach Gautam Gambhir behind the move. Rana was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad mentored by Gambhir, when the franchise lifted the title two years ago. Since then Rana has rapidly elevated in the national team and has now represented India in all three formats.

Many including, former India bowler Dodda Ganesh, have opined Anshul Kamboj deserved a chance before Rana. In fact the ex-cricketer also took to X, questioning the "obsession with Harshit Rana".

Now Mukesh Kumar, pacer part of India A squad, has given a fresh twist to the controversy. Without taking any names, Mukesh shared a post on Instagram, which reflected his dissatisfaction. “Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback," the pacer wrote on his Instagram story.

If we look at the numbers, Rana scalped one wicket in the first unofficial Test against England Lions. Mukesh, who also played just the first unofficial Test, had returned with three scalps.

Meanwhile, Kamboj took part in both unofficial Tests and scalped a total of five wickets.
