Fraser-McGurk (55) and Rishabh Pant (41) powered Delhi Capitals to a stylish victory over Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets. After early dismissal of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and Fraser McGurk took the innings forward and left no option for the Super Giants to save the match. Pant came in the middle after Prithvi Shaw was dismissed and then they left the field when only formalities were left for DC victory. Hope and Stubbs drove DC home thereafter.

Shaw missed the opportunity

Prithvi Shaw from Delhi Capitals scored a well-played 32 run innings, got out playing a silly shot when he could have played anchor innings for the Capitals. Shaw got out of a running low-diving catch by Nicholas Pooran off Ravi Bishnoi for 8 runs.

Warner’s poor show continues

David Warner has failed to score in this IPL so far and his poor show continued against the Super Giants as he looked struggling to score any runs and got out early in the innings scoring only 8 runs off the bowling of Yash Thakur.

LSG lose way in the middle

After a decent start, Lucknow Super Giants lose their way in the middle as Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets on successive deliveries in the eighth over. Kuldeep came back in the tenth over to get KL Rahul out on 39. At this moment half of the LSG team was out with just 77 runs on the scoreboard. Between 7-15 overs, LSG scored 57 runs and lost 5 wickets. Badoni provided some respite for LSG in the last overs with his 55* off 35 balls. Earlier, KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock opened the innings for LSG and De Kock got out on 19 followed by Padikkal on 3, both LBW on Khaleel. LSG reached a fighting total of 167 to defend against Delhi Capitals in 20 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav’s magical spell

Kuldeep Yadav bowled a magical spell to restrict Lucknow Super Giants flow of runs driven by KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis. Kuldeep bowled his first 2 overs at a stretch and took three big wickets of Stoinis, Pooran and KL Rahul for only 7 runs. Rahul was playing good and looking set for a big score. Kuldeep returned to bowl the rest of 2 overs and finished his spell at 20/3 in his four overs.

Badoni’s respite for LSG comeback

After losing the track completely, respite came from the lower order batsman Ayush Badoni who played a brave innings and scored 55* off 35 balls with few boundaries off the DC bowling. Ayush Badoni shared a 73* partnership with Arshad for eighth wicket to get the LSG to a fighting total.
