Kuldeep Yadav loses cool at umpire, stump mic catches DC spinner muttering 'Agar umpire’s call hua toh…'

Kuldeep Yadav failed to control his emotion on the field during the crucial Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday evening. The spinner lost his cool at the umpire right after he was introduced in the attack. In a bid to break the opening stand between Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, which till then had already swelled up to 63, Kuldeep delivered a wrong-un, which rapped the pads of the former. The spinner was convinced that he had done the job for his team but the umpire thought otherwise.

This didn't sit well with Kuldeep as he turned and marched straight towards the official, exchanged a few words and made animated gestures. In fact the DC spinner was caught on the stump mic muttering: "Agar umpire’s call hua toh…”, following which the audio wasn't clear due to the noise at the stadium.

Axar Patel eventually took the review but it was evident that Kuldeep was not happy with the umpire's decision. Meanwhile, the replays confirmed that the ball and impact were on the line and the ball was brushing the leg stump, hence it was declared "Umpire's Call".

The moment proved decisive as Sudharsan then on 29 went on to finish unbeaten on 108 off 61 balls, which featured 12 boundaries and four maximums. His opening partner and GT skipper too returned unbeaten on 93 off 53 (three 4s and seven 6s) as the duo led the team to a powerful 10-wicket win and wrapped the stiff 200-run chase with an over to spare.

The outcome also saw GT qualify for the playoffs and along with them Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) also sealed the playoffs berth. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), DC, and Mumbai Indians (MI) are now locked in a three-way battle for the last playoffs spot.
