Ayodhya is set to host a grand celebration, Pratishtha Dwadashi, from January 11 to 13, 2025, marking the first anniversary of Ram Lalla’s installation in the magnificent temple at Ayodhya. This three-day festival promises to be a spiritual and cultural extravaganza, attracting devotees and visitors from across the nation.

On the opening day, January 11, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the sacred Abhishek of Shri Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple at 11 AM. Following the ceremonial worship, the Chief Minister will inaugurate a cultural programme at Angad Tila, where he will also address the assembled devotees.

Pratishtha Dwadashi 2025: Celebrating a Historic Milestone

This year’s Pratishtha Dwadashi marks one year since the inauguration of the newly built Ram Temple, a monumental occasion in Indian history. Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, highlighted the significance of the festival, stating that it falls on Paush Shukla Paksha, Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2001, corresponding to January 11, 2025. He emphasised that the temple, located at the sacred birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, stands as a symbol of Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma.

Spiritual and Cultural Highlights

  • Devotional Offerings: One of the festival’s key attractions is the Shri Ram Raag-Seva programme, a three-day series of devotional performances near the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. This event, curated by Ayodhya artist Yatindra Mishra, is supported by the Sangeet Natak Academy and will feature music, dance, and instrumental renditions dedicated to Lord Shri Ram.
  • Cultural Programmes Across Ayodhya: To enhance the spiritual fervour, vibrant kirtans will take place at significant locations, including Lata Chowk, Janmabhoomi Path, Shringar Haat, Ram Ki Paidi, Sugriva Fort, and Chhoti Devkali. Young artistes will perform musical pieces, creating a divine atmosphere throughout the city.
  • Releasing Devotional Songs: In addition, the festival will see the release of devotional songs by prominent artists like Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, and Malini Awasthi, adding to the celebratory spirit.
Three-Day Programme Schedule

Day 1 – January 11, 2025 | The festival opens with Raga Seva, performed by the renowned singer Usha Mangeshkar and Mayuresh Pai, presenting devotional bhajans. This will be followed by a sitar and violin duet by Sahitya Nahar and Santosh Nahar. The day will conclude with a stunning Bharatnatyam dance performance by Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant.

Day 2 – January 12, 2025 | The second day begins with Raga Seva by celebrated folk singer Shailesh Srivastava, featuring traditional melodies like Badhawa and Sohar. Classical vocalist Kalapini Komkali will follow with her rendition of Shri Ram bhajans and Nirgun Gayan. The day ends with a mesmerising flute recital by maestro Rakesh Chaurasia.

Day 3 – January 13, 2025 | The final day of the festival opens with a classical vocal performance by the acclaimed Aarti Ankalikar. This is followed by an elegant Kathak dance by renowned dancer Shobhana Narayan. The grand finale will feature classical singing and bhajans by the celebrated South Indian duo, Shri Krishna Mohan and Shri Ram Mohan Thrissur Brothers.

Invitations to All

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended invitations to saints, devotees, and pilgrims across the country. Champat Rai encouraged everyone to participate in the celebrations, suggesting at least a one-day visit during the festival to immerse in the spiritual and cultural atmosphere of Ayodhya.

The Ram Temple, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024, has become a beacon of faith and devotion. The first anniversary of the installation of Ram Lalla marks a significant milestone, uniting people in reverence and celebration.
