Iran-based IRNA reported that Khamenei has called the US and European nations as the 'root cause of the problems in West Asia'.

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that the conflicts in West Asia are caused by the presence of those who claim to advocate for peace and tranquility in the region.

Iran-based IRNA reported that Khamenei has dubbed the United States and certain European nations as the "root cause of the problems in West Asia".

He further said that these conflicts would be over and nations in the region will live together in peace and security if the US and select European nations stopped their "wicked practices" in this region.

Iran launched its largest attack on Israel on October 1, firing 180 ballistic missiles, the majority of which were intercepted by anti-missile defences from Israel, the US, and Jordan. This further flared up the worsening situation in the Middle East.

Israel has responded by issuing a stern warning to Iran, asserting that it would "pay" for the attack, while Iran threatened to retaliate with an even larger strike if targeted.

Khamenei further alleged that these foreign nations provoke other countries and cited the example of Iraq's last dictator Saddam Hussein, which he said, resulted in hard and bitter situations, according to the IRNA report, ANI reported.

Khamenei expressed grief over Lebanon's Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah's killing and added that his death is deeply felt, terming it a major event, according to the IRNA report.
