Artist Madhuri Badhuri’s work embodies the joyous, contemplative, reflective reviews of what touches her senses deeply.

Pune-based artist Madhuri Badhuri has three decades of exceptional work to her repertoire. In her entire career span, Madhuri has traversed different trajectories of art: the representational, the abstract, and often a combination of both. Her early works were inspired by a gamut of imagery — the rising sun, bright clear skies, clouds, hills, houses, or waterbeds where she concentrated on the feel of the subject, the fundamental form and the colours which gave it fullness and life. Gradually, her paintings moved from the ‘familiar’, to the ‘intangible and formless’. These works, textured and multi-layered, find rhythms in the different densities of colours: translucent yellows and whites juxtaposed against gloomy browns, moody blues and jubilant reds. While the list of her solo shows and group exhibitions are long and impressive; some of the most recent one’s include an art show at the Gallery Art & Soul, Mumbai (2015); The Memory Chronicles, The Muse Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2015) and Ireland, Gateway to Europe at Novotel Pune (2014).
