Over 2 lakh people gifted personalised celebrity messages on Mother's Day using Zomato: Deepinder Goyal

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the launch of a new feature on the food delivery platform – personalised celebrity video messages. This innovative feature allows customers to generate a message from celebrities for their mothers.

While announcing the feature, Goyal also shared the top 10 names of Indian moms. The name Sunita was on top followed by Anita, Manju, Rekha and Seema, among others. This information was generated through the feature which requires customers to choose a celebrity and then add their mother’s name.

The AI-generated video would be available within 15 minutes of order placement. One just has to view, download and then share with their mother. According to Goyal, over two lakh people have already used this feature since its launch.

Fun fact: Sunita, Anita and Manju are top names of Indian moms," he wrote in the caption of the post.

Goyal's announcement soon went viral and was received positively by social media users.

"Great initiative and thought," one user wrote. Another user commented, "Brought a smile to my face. Just sent this to my mom."

"It's a very sweet gesture," a third user remarked. A fourth user added, "Crazy! Hands down the best app in India in terms of experience."

Meanwhile, a few days ago in another Mother's Day prep feature, Goyal announced the launch of photo cakes. The offering enables customers to upload their own pictures and have them transformed into customised cakes, delivered in about 30 minutes.
