Just three months earlier, in March 2025, Revathi Kamath revealed that her billionaire sons had gifted her a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLS, a luxury SUV with an estimated value of over Rs 1.5 crore. The news was initially shared via her personal Facebook account, where she posted a photo of herself donning a traditional Mysuru-style peta (turban) and shalu (shawl) while accepting the car keys during a ceremonial handover.

Revathi Kamath, environmentalist, veena player, and mother of Zerodha co-founders Nikhil and Nithin Kamath, recently took to social media to share her appreciation for Bengaluru’s public transportation system. In a post on Instagram, she was seen travelling in the women’s compartment of the Bengaluru Metro, also known as Namma Metro.

Sharing a photograph of herself dressed in a pink saree and standing inside a metro coach, Kamath wrote, “Travelling in the metro is so much convenient and that too in the female compartment! #nammametro.” The post gained attention not only for her endorsement of sustainable public transit but also for the contrast it presented to an earlier update she shared about receiving a luxury vehicle from her sons.

Just three months earlier, in March 2025, Kamath revealed that her billionaire sons had gifted her a brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLS, a luxury SUV with an estimated value of over Rs 1.5 crore. The news was initially shared via her personal Facebook account, where she posted a photo of herself donning a traditional Mysuru-style peta (turban) and shalu (shawl) while accepting the car keys during a ceremonial handover.

“My sons today gifted me new car today and here also I received car keys this way and one more Peta and shalu,” she wrote in the caption. The gesture was widely noted online, with publications like Hindustan Times reporting the model as a Mercedes GLS—known for its expansive cabin, advanced infotainment features, and high-performance engine options.

According to information available on her personal website, Revathi Kamath and her husband raised their children with a deep focus on compassion, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship. “I think contributing to society and all they got from me and my husband, he used to help people a lot,” she was quoted as saying on the website.

Beyond her musical and familial roles, Kamath has also made a name for herself in environmental conservation. Her website notes that she has planted over one lakh trees and played a crucial role in the revival of Somanahalli Lake in Kanakapura, Karnataka. “Through her efforts, the lake was transformed from a state of decline to a thriving ecosystem, benefiting 28 acres of land and recharging 300 borewells and 200 open wells,” the site read.
