Using a common password can allow hackers to breach your accounts more easily, which in turn can compromise your personal data like bank accounts. For the fifth year in a row, NordPass has released a list of the most common passwords used by people across the world. The list also looks at common passwords in different countries.
In India, “123456” was the most common password, used over 3.6 lakh times in the data analysed by NordPass. The time taken to crack this password is less than one second.

Globally, too, “123456” remained the most commonly-used password, followed by “admin.”
If your password is on this list, you may want to consider changing it on priority. Cyber safety experts recommend using passwords that contain a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Such passwords are considered strong passwords as they are most effective against guessing and brute-force attacks by hackers.
