Virat Kohli is in excellent form as a batter but Sunday’s match against Netherlands saw his bowling expertise as well. India claimed a thumping victory against Netherlands in Bengaluru with a marvellous partnership between KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. However, the most interesting spectacle of the game was Kohli’s bowling and how he took his maiden World Cup wicket. His wife and actor Anushka Sharma’s reaction has also gone viral.
The moment was also captured in a video that has gone viral online. The clip showed Kohli bowling to Netherlands’ skipper Scott Edwards. KL Rahul took a catch behind the stumps and as soon as the umpire raised his finger, the team and the entire stadium erupted in joy.
Kohli was seen looking towards the stands and Sharma’s million-dollar reaction won hearts on the internet. The actor was seen cheering for her husband happily. The couple also got tears in their eyes and the entire country witnessed the historic moment.
Kohli had last picked up a wicket in 2014 against New Zealand in an ODI match in Wellington.
Meanwhile, India still remains at the top of the table. The Rohit Sharma-led team gave a mammoth target of 411 to Netherlands. While Iyer slammed a total of 128 runs off 94 balls, KL Rahul’s 102 came off in 84 balls.
The team is now preparing for their semi-final match against New Zealand that will take place on Wednesday.
