The luxurious Vande Bharat Express, known for its premium service, was recently seen overcrowded with ticketless passengers, drawing comparisons to general quota trains. A video circulating on social media shows a coach of the Vande Bharat Express, running between Lucknow Junction and Dehradun, filled with standing passengers.
The video, shared on X, captured travellers cramming into a coach and congesting the aisle, making it difficult to move.
"The encroachment of now every train is completed," read the caption of the post shared by a user named Manu.
Now Premium Vande Bharat is also facing the same fate as other trains. We do not need a puppet Railway Minister, we need a new Railways which is at least accountable. pic.twitter.com/1V5NwiavQI— Gems of Engineering (@gemsofbabus_) June 9, 2024
This unexpected scene on the prestigious Vande Bharat Express triggered various reactions from the public.
One user commented, "Ticketless travellers traveling on premium trains? Seriously?" Another suggested, "Please implement a strict checking system to prevent this. It's not fair to those who paid for their tickets."
A third user expressed concern about the overcrowding, saying, "This is disappointing to see on such a premium train. Measures should be taken to maintain the quality of service."
Another user shared their frustration, "Implement metro system in every railway station, no card, no tickets, no platform tickets, no entry," suggesting stricter access control to prevent such situations. Echoing this sentiment, another remarked, "First, Vande Bharat train system must have dedicated special Railway Police. What is the purpose of buying tickets worth thousands?"
Meanwhile, a passenger travelling on the Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi's Anand Vihar expressed his disappointment after discovering fungus in the yogurt served during his meal in the executive class. The incident was shared on X by Harshad Topkar, who posted photos of the contaminated yogurt and tagged the Ministry of Railways and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Topkar's post read, "Travelling on Vande Bharat from Dehradun to Anand Vihar in the executive class today. Found a greenish layer, most probably fungus, in the yogurt served. This is not expected from the Vande Bharat service."
The images accompanying his tweet showed a noticeable greenish layer on the yogurt, sparking concerns about the quality of food served on the premium train service.
