A man travelling aboard the Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi’s Anand Vihar was heavily disappointed after finding fungus in the yoghurt that was served to him. The yoghurt, which was part of the meal in executive class, was infected with fungus as seen in the pictures shared by him.
The post was shared on X by a user named Harshad Topkar. He had shared a few pictures of the fungus-infested yoghurt along with a tweet addressed to the Ministry of Railways and Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
“Travelling on Vande Bharat from Dehradun to Anand Vihar in the executive class today. Found greenish layer most probably fungus in the yoghurt served. This is not expected from the Vande Bharat service,” Topkar said in his post.

The post, shared on Tuesday, caught the attention of Rail Seva, an account to provide support to railway users and Northern Railway as well.

This incident joins the long list of complaints shared by passengers regarding food aboard the Vande Bharat Express. Last month, a passenger found a dead cockroach in a pre-booked non-vegetarian meal that was served to him onboard the Vande Bharat Express from Rani Kamlapati to Jabalpur.
“I was traumatized by seeing dead COCKROACH in the food packet given by them,” Shubhendu Keshari wrote in a tweet attached with pictures as proof.
In January, several passenger travelling from Delhi to Varanasi via the Vande Bharat Express voiced their dissatisfaction with the quality of food served during their journey. The passengers claimed that the food was smelly and very dirty.
"Hi sir, I am in journey with 22416 from NDLS to BSB. Food that was served now is smelling and very dirty. Food quality is subpar. Kindly refund my entire amount. These vendors are spoiling the brand name of Vande Bharat Express,” one of the passengers named Akash Keshari wrote.
