Unacademy CEO Gaurav Munjal recently referred to Bengaluru as India's best city and added that everyone that he had met recently wanted to move to the Karnataka capital.
"Everyone I meet these days wants to move to Bangalore. Best City in India," Munjal wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
Everyone I meet these days wants to move to Bangalore. Best City in India. And the only place you should be if you’re thinking of starting a Company.— Gaurav Munjal (@gauravmunjal) May 31, 2024
Munjal added that Bengaluru should be the only city that founders should consider while thinking of starting their own firms. "And the only place you should be if you’re thinking of starting a company," he wrote.
Munjal's post saw a lot of responses. While some agreed with him, others opted to differ with his views.
"Not even starting a company, if you want non-linear outcomes in your career, BLR is the place with the highest probability!" one user wrote.
"Weather and whole startup vibe is very much keeps you alive in Bangalore," another user wrote.
"Sorry, but I don't agree. Bangalore is unplanned, chaotic, and doesn't have a culture. It's just a mass of people trying to jostle for space," a third user wrote.
"Best city with no water and electricity, poor road infrastructure and no real metro trains connectivity," a fourth user wrote.
This is not the first instance where Munjal has praised Bengaluru and how living or working out of the city would improve one's odds of succeeding in their respective fields.
