Two popular content creators narrowly escaped serious injury after an SUV drove through the glass frontage of a restaurant in Texas while they were filming a food review.

Houston-based YouTuber Nina Santiago, known online as NinaUnrated, and fellow influencer Patrick Blackwood were seated inside Cuvee Culinary Creations on 17 August when the vehicle suddenly smashed into the dining area.

The pair had been recording a food review at the time of the crash. Security footage and their own video captured the terrifying moment the car broke through the restaurant’s glass wall, sending shards flying across the room and knocking over their table.

In a video posted shortly after the incident, Santiago described the ordeal as a near-death experience. “Tomorrow Is Not Promised. @cuveesculinarycreations Glass Shatters Everywhere! SUV Crashes Through Window While We Eat. Near Death Experience,” she wrote in her caption.

Santiago later shared images of her injuries, which included cuts to her wrist and face, recalling how ordinary moments had turned dangerous in an instant. “It hit us directly, me on his left, him on my right as I bit into a delicious salmon slider. Out of nowhere, but we survived,” she said.

Reflecting on the shock, she added: “This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you. This could’ve been our last meal.”

Footage showed the two influencers in mid-review when the SUV ploughed through the window, scattering debris across the restaurant. Their table toppled as Santiago was thrown to the floor and Blackwood, who had been closest to the window, was struck by flying glass before collapsing nearly on top of her.

Both were left injured but able to walk away. Santiago later posted photographs showing bloodied gashes on her wrist and face, telling followers: “I’m beyond grateful to be alive after an SUV crashed through the glass wall at Cuvee Culinary Creations in Houston, TX, shattering everything while Patrick Blackwood and I recorded an eating show.”

Blackwood also turned to social media, sharing images of his wounds on TikTok and Instagram. His injuries included cuts to his ear, chest, arm, and face. One laceration was severe enough to require seven staples.

In his post, he expressed gratitude despite the ordeal. “Grateful to see another day, walking away from the small stuff with a big purpose! Live bold, love deep, and make every moment count,” he wrote.

The reason why the SUV veered into the restaurant remains unclear. Authorities have not yet confirmed the circumstances surrounding the crash.
